From Desert Days to Holiday Hugs
Well, we have had several busy weeks, and with a bit of procrastination on my part, it’s been a month since I last posted.
On Dec. 13, we left our desert campsite at Imperial Dam and went to Palm Desert to spend a few days with Mike Hall, his sister and brother-in-law, Robin and John Koehler. We enjoyed a few days by the pool and hiking. Mike had access to a garage where we could store our van and trailer while we went home for the holidays. We made it to Detroit without delays on Dec. 19. Brian was a trouper to come and pick us up at 10:45 p.m.

The Four of Us
We hit Findlay running and made it to a basketball game. I got to see Darby cheer, while Tim spent time watching Silas, Emmett, and Coen try rock climbing in Toledo and joined them, plus Patrick, for snow tubing in Belfountaine. We had so much fun spending time with the kiddos. Darby and I had our annual Roli Poli and Buckeye making day. I love the one-on-one time I have with my only granddaughter. I’m grateful that she likes tradition. I also got to see her cheer at Van Buren one night. She is becoming such a kind and beautiful young lady. Hard to believe she is 16.
My LRC (Left, Right, Center) girlfriends waited to have our annual Christmas gathering until I was home. Another successful and fun white elephant gift exchange. (No photos, because what happens at LRC, stays at LRC!)
Every year, I invite Tim’s cousins from around the area to come for Christmas Eve brunch. Due to the small size of our little house, which we bought in August, Sean and Ashley offered to host. We had a great turnout and enjoyed catching up with everyone. Sean also offered to host our immediate family Christmas dinner on Christmas Day. Lots of food, fun, and great family time.
Party in the Old Neighborhood
We had a cocktail party in the old neighborhood with our wonderful friends, and the ladies all met for brunch one day. It was so wonderful to spend time with you all.
Last but not least, we enjoyed our annual New Year’s Eve with Danny and Jonna. This year, we invited John and Robin to join us and had a wonderful time together. We all love card games and spent the evening playing 7’s and Canadian Salad.
We flew back to Palm Desert on Jan. 5. Again, we had no delays. Awesome. We stayed at Mike and Heidi’s condo for the night, then picked up our camper and trailer. We have been back at Imperial Dam since the 6th. We have taken some awesome hikes and enjoyed our friends we have made here.

We went to Los Algodones, Mexico, yesterday to get some antibiotics. Tim has a sinus infection, diagnosed by me, lol. That was an experience. We walked across the border and to one of 15 pharmacies, then walked back out right away. So many people were trying to get our business for whatever medical need we could have. Glad we got there early and got in and out so fast. The prices for meds are really, really cheap.
Tim hiked to some slot canyons today with our friends Pat and Ron. I stayed back to write my blog.
We will head to our site in Tucson, The Voyager RV Resort, on Thursday. Looking forward to seeing our friends we have made there. Thursday at 4 is always cocktails on 8th Street at Bill and Lois’s. Can’t wait to see all our 8th Street neighbors, plus lap swimming and shuffleboard again. Looking forward to an exciting 2026. We have some fun adventures planned. Stay tuned.
